Dropping of the ball

We apologize for lack of post-age. We've just been quite busy with new work schedules, moving, etc. to even consider posting. But we still love you so no worries. Been so busy I missed Derek Jeter's birthday (yea, I know...it's THAT bad). But the main point of this post is to announce the AWESOMENESS that is the new editor at Deadspin aka best sports columnist in the world, Clay Travis. I received phone calls, texts and IMs to inform me of the momentous occasion and nothing makes me happier. Yea, it means no more ClayNation column, but Clay everyday? I think I can make the adjustment quite well.

Two months from today we will be kicking off football season. Who's excited? Yea, I am.

On a more melancholy note, the best mascot in all of sports Uga VI passed away this weekend. It's quite a blow to Bulldog Nation but we're sure Uga VII will be just as great as all of his predecessors. RIP Uga VI. You were a damn good dog.

Mid-Week Man Candy

I don't really think Ryan Gosling really requires an explanation as to why he is man candy this week. I mean, just look at him. He was by far the best part of The Notebook (sappy love stories really don't do it for us) ... he made that scraggly beard incredibly hot. He was mini-man candy when he was rockin' out with Justin, JC, Britney and XTina on the MMC and now he's blossomed into a hottie. And he's Canadian so how can you not like him?

Mid-Week Man Candy

Here's to you Shia Labeouf. There was some discussion as to if he really qualifies as a "man," but we both think so. You've been adorable since your days on Even Stevens but have just recently become a smokin' hottie in such flicks as Transformers and Indiana Jones (Katy hearts Mutt). Too bad you have you taint yourself with a skank like Megan Fox.

P.S. Quite possibly the best quote ever ... "I'm playing in the U.S. Open and I'm going to win" ... Tiger Woods is the man.

Mike Mussina, Mike, Mike Mussina

I don't think there are any words to properly describe this. Mike Mussina is tied for the most wins in the American League. Who would have ever thought this was possible? Oh yeah...just Katy.

Tiger Woods = Superhuman

I made a bet with a co-worker right now that I am right now wishing I could take back. No way Tiger Woods was going to come back in his first tourney since knee surgery and win the U.S. Open. Boy, was I wrong. At this point in time though, I don't even mind handing over 20 bucks. I just watched Tiger grimace through the pain and play one of the most amazing back nines I have ever seen in my years of watching major championships (and trust me, in my family, we watch a lot of golf). I sat in disbelief as his chip shot bounced off the pin and down in to the hole. I am a Tiger fan and always have been - I mean how can you not be? I love his grins and reactions when he hits big shots. It's almost like he doesn't believe he's the best player in the world and maybe of all time. I do like my money, but I am rooting so hard for Tiger right now.

P.S. Go Dawgs! Suck it, Miami
P.P.S. They had the top 10 Tiger Woods shots at Majors on SportsCenter and I have been fortunate in my life to see two of the top three (No. 3 - Hole in one at the British Open @ Royal Liverpool; No. 1 - Chip in on 16 at the Masters). I am a lucky girl.

Funny phone exchanges:

Jess in response to me trying to explain the U.S. Open - "The only thing I understood was Tiger Woods."
Jess is response to me making a comment about listening to a Jonas Brother's song - "Do you listen to Radio Disney? How's the new Cheetah Girls song?"

78 days ... and yes, we are counting

This is quite possibly the best UGA football highlight video created. So enjoy.

About halfway through is "the look" aka pretty much the most adorable thing Matthew Stafford has ever done.

Text message convo
Katy: i found a youtube video with matthew stafford's look from the auburn game
Jess: i hope you put it on the blog
Katy: i'm already one step ahead of you

Mid-week Man Candy

So Wednesday is almost over, but a busy day of paginating and apartment searching takes a lot out of these here bloggers. Don't fret — we always deliver.

Here's to you, John Krasinski aka adorable Jim from The Office. We love how adorable you are with Pam and the way you just sell those paper products. And you're pretty good to look at. The main reason you are man candy this week (besides your awesomeness, of course) is because that even though we are far apart, the McCluca bond is strong.

Katy: so i was thinking about making jim from the office man candy
Jessica: omg
that is exactly what i was going to say
Katy: seriously?
Jessica: yeah
i was going to text earlier, but the cat started freaking out
Katy: wow we are really connected
Jessica: so it seems
Katy: why do we like him?
Jessica: because he's funny
and tall

... and that says it all.

Mid Week Man Candy

We're feeling very political today

Here's to you, Barack Obama. We love the way you wrap up Democratic Presidential Nominations in dramatic fashion. I (Katy) love your Illinois roots and how big of bad ass you've been (aka secret agent man style). I can also not wait for the elections to actually get underway because I love hearing Obama speak. Yes we can. So bravo, Barack.

skitchkd (9:05:08 PM): yay obama
ffiore957 (9:05:21 PM): yay

Hot, hot heat

Text from Jess:

It's 103 today and the wind is blowing hot air at like 35mph. I bet this is what hell feels like.
